EU funding programs harmonized across Europe
Cloudflight supports Interact-EU in the development of the monitoring system Jems (Joint Electronic Monitoring System). Interact has entrusted Cloudflight with this challenging task as its sole implementation partner.
Cross-border cooperation between regions and countries
Our customer Interact has a concrete task: EU cooperation programs and funding measures should be implemented more effectively than before. Among other things, Interact promotes this effectiveness with the easy-to-use online portal Jems.
The challenge
Comprehensible cross-border cooperation
The online tool Jems must:
- meet the different needs, requirements and regulations of the more than 100 Interreg funding programs in different EU countries,
- support the initiative to harmonize processes and application forms between programs,
- meet the regulatory requirements of the EU Commission.
Time is short, the requirements are complex, and the pressure to succeed is high.
The solution
Transparent application processing
With Jems, the Joint Electronic Monitoring System, we have achieved even more for Interact:
- Legally compliant applications and their approvals: From the initial application to the completion of the project, each phase is digitally monitored in Jems.
- Jems users can fill out the application form in multiple languages - depending on which language n the funding program requires: Input and display language can be switched independently.
- Each Interreg funding program can configure Jems individually and adapt application forms and review criteria to the respective call for proposals.
Only the partnership-based exchange at eye level and the collegial cooperation between Interact and Cloudflight made the result possible: user feedback reaches us directly, since the program staff themselves participate in the sprint reviews and thus have personal contact with our developers. UX/UI experts accompany the project so that the different perspectives of the stakeholders result in a unified UI concept. This is how, after the initial design phase, we succeeded in getting the project partners from all over Europe to pull in the same direction with the result of a common project vision.

Interact EU
Interact provides services to cooperation programs under the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) objective of the 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy – known as Interreg. These programs work on joint solutions in areas such as health, environment, research, education, transport, sustainable energy and more.
The work covers European Union member states as well as Norway and Switzerland. Programs in pre-accession countries and neighboring European countries are also supported. Interact is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
