The control console of an offset press forms the central operating unit for all operator tasks. Job management, maintenance, tracking and quality control are controlled via this one operating element. The tasks for maintenance work, job sorting and all other information could only be called up directly at the press and only by trained personnel. A commute of the user between the control station and the actual place where a task has to be done was everyday life.

The use of a smartphone app formed the basis for detached information processing. The Rapida LiveApp supports operators in monitoring and controlling sheetfed offset presses. Thanks to secure log-in at the console, users can clearly call up the status, progress check and pending maintenance jobs of the print production, regardless of location. In addition, the app provides access to batch recording for seamless tracking of consumables, as well as to the manual, instructions and documentation for the press.
Thanks to the newly created platform, not only is the current work made easier, but it is also possible to plan ahead, and production processes can be adapted to maintenance intervals and consumption. User-centred, the app thus no longer only supports operation, but also ensures greater efficiency in the entire working environment.
