Kelag is one of Austria's leading energy service providers focusing primarily on energy management solutions. As part of the group-wide digital strategy, an app was to be developed for easy charging at public charging stations.
The challenge
An app for more e-mobility
Kelag makes over 7,500 charging stations in Austria publicly available to its customers. However, the Kelag Mobility app is required to use these charging stations. The app is essential for customers to be able to operate charging stations easily throughout the country. For this purpose, Kelag was looking for an experienced development partner who could develop and subsequently maintain this app.
The solution
Simple features for a better customer experience
Our project team, organized in an agile team, developed the concept and visual design in collaboration with Kelag in intensive design sprints. The technical implementation and testing were then carried out in two-week sprints.
One of the most important requirements during the design phase was that the app could be used for Android and iOS without any problems. As a result, it was necessary to press ahead with development in parallel, as the requirements could not be implemented identically on both systems.

Simple features for a better customer experience experience
The Kelag-Mobility-App allows customers to view the available charging points (including free/occupied status), carry out the charging process and keep track of all charging processes.
The Kelag Mobility app provides an overview of the customer's own car power contract: Contents such as invoices and charges can be seen here. Charging is also straightforward: simply scan the QR code with the app and start the charging process. Users also have access to a map with all available charging points, to which they can be navigated.
The app is constantly being developed to further enhance the user experience through improved design and new features.
